My Story
I was five years old when I began to see the world through art. Inspired by a family member’s work, my newfound interest compelled me to practice every chance I got. When hard times limited my supplies, I still scribbled drawings on the back of receipts and books’ blank endpapers.
Though there have been times in my life when I didn’t want to be instructed, I never stopped creating. First with pencil, then pastels, my art flourishes when I have a project at hand. My creative life consumes me, causing me to work with feverish abandon for days, only to start over
again.
Maybe I’m my own worst critic—I know I still have much to learn. But my love for creating keeps me coming back, even when life pulls me away from art for a time. And life—my kids, my husband, my faith—is what inspires me to take ordinary things and transform them into beauty.
